Sober motorist collides with a schoolgirl in Sochi
In the heart of Sochi, on Svetogorskaya Street near building No. 15, a tragic incident took place on August 22, 2025. A traffic accident involving a 70-year-old resident of Sochi driving a "UAZ-31519" vehicle left a 14-year-old girl seriously injured.
Police investigations and alcohol tests have confirmed that the driver was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. As a result, the driver now faces up to 7 years in prison, charged under Article 264, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The criminal case, initiated by the Investigative Department of the Sochi City Police, is related to the traffic accident that occurred in the Adler district of Sochi in March 2024. The accused, a 23-year-old individual, had their driver's license confiscated and now faces charges of endangering road traffic and negligent bodily injury.
The accident had a devastating impact on the young victim, who sustained severe injuries. She was left with multiple pelvic fractures, rib fractures, kidney contusions, a closed head injury, concussion, a laceration on the forehead, and multiple abrasions on the head, face, and extremities.
The violation of traffic rules not only caused serious harm to a person's health but also put many lives at risk. The case materials have been sent to court, and the accused awaits justice for their negligent actions.
