Soldier (48 years old) perishes in Bad Dürkheim
In Bad Dürkheim, Germany, a skydive ended tragically at the local glider airport on August 30. A 48-year-old parachutist, whose current health condition is critical, sustained severe injuries after a crash during his jump.
The skydive took place at the Almen in Bad Dürkheim, and the incident was reported by the police headquarters in Neustadt/Weinstraße. According to the information available, the skydiver jumped from approximately 3,000 meters in a Cessna aircraft, manufactured by Textron Aviation, the maker of Cessna planes.
Initially, the skydiver's jump seemed to be going according to plan. However, about 30 meters before landing, the skydiver changed his position against the wind, increasing his fall speed. This sudden manoeuvre led to the uncontrolled crash onto the ground.
The exact reason for the crash remains unknown at this time. The police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the accident and are asking anyone with information to contact the Bad Dürkheim police station at 06322/963-0 or email [email protected].
Our thoughts are with the skydiver and his family during this difficult time. We will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
