Sony Unveils High-Performance 28-70 mm F2 Zoom Lens of the G Master Series

Sony Electronics has expanded its E-Mount lens lineup with the introduction of the 28-70mm F2 G Master, the first zoom lens from the company with a constant F2 aperture.

This new lens is designed to provide a versatile video option with a zoom range of 28 to 70 millimeters. It offers exceptional optical performance, minimizing focus breathing through its build and compatibility with the Breathing Compensation feature on various Alpha bodies.

The 28-70mm F2 G Master lens remains compact at 3.6 inches by 5.5 inches and lightweight at about 32.3 ounces, making it suitable for both photography and video applications. It is well-suited for gimbal use, with a minimal zoom extension of about .68 inches, ensuring a stable and balanced performance.

The lens produces extremely sharp corner-to-corner results throughout the entire zoom range, thanks to its advanced optical design. It minimizes chromatic aberrations with three Super ED elements and one ED element, ensuring high-quality images with minimal distortion.
