Soybeans descended towards the close, exacerbating losses for the week.

In the week ending September 2nd, 2021, managed money trimmed back 8,854 contracts from their net long position in soybean futures and options, leaving them with 11,964 contracts as of the closing.

The national average Cash Bean price saw a decrease of 6 cents, settling at $9.49 ½. This was mirrored in the nearby Cash price, which also closed at $9.49 ½.

Soybean futures experienced a decrease of 5 to 6 cents on Friday, with November contracts falling 27 ½ cents this week. Soymeal futures, on the other hand, increased by 40 cents on Friday but were down $2.90 this week.

New crop soybean sales were 818,474 MT, marking a 4-week low. The largest buyer of 2025/26 soybeans for the week was unknown destinations, accounting for 269,000 MT.

The USDA reported private export sales of 123,000 MT of soybeans to unknown destinations, with an additional 204,650 MT during the reported period to unknown destinations this morning, all for the 2025/26 crop year.

Export Sales data showed net reductions of 23,775 MT in the week of August 28th, an improvement from the 189,184 MT in net reductions the previous week. Bean oil sales were pegged at 144 MT in net reductions for the current marketing year and sales of 1,821 MT for 2025/26.

Soybean meal sales were 4,317 MT in 2024/25 net reductions, with sales of 145,700 MT for 2025/26.

Sep 25 Soybeans closed at $10.06 ½, down 5 ½ cents. Jan 26 Soybeans closed at $10.45 ½, down 6 cents, while Nov 25 Soybeans closed at $10.27, also down 6 cents.
