Meanwhile, changes are coming to the Herne motorway junction, a significant traffic hub within Münster's motorway police jurisdiction. Last weekend, from 15.08. to 18.08., the A42 was closed in the area of the junction for various reasons. Among other changes, the lanes of both directions of the A42 are now physically separated for a short stretch.

On Monday (18.08.), the new Baukau tunnel will be opened. This change is part of an extensively redesigned traffic management within the large construction site, particularly on the A42. Due to narrowed lanes, ongoing construction traffic, and frequently changing traffic management, various speed limits are in effect within the motorway junction. The speed limit in this area is 60 km/h.

After the on-ramp of the tangent from Münster towards Duisburg, the on-ramp of the tunnel will now lead onto the Duisburg-bound carriageway. These changes aim to improve traffic flow and safety within the junction.

It is important to note that there is no information in the search results about the person wanted by the Münster police for speeding on Sunday evening or regarding any fines, points, or driving bans for other drivers in this incident. Always remember to drive responsibly and adhere to the speed limits for a safer journey.
