Speed Limits Relaxed in Hüttenheim: Police Enforcing Speed Checks Permitting Drives up to 118 km/h at 50 km/h Zone
In the city of Duisburg, police officers have taken two package delivery drivers into custody and filed separate criminal complaints against them.
The first incident involved a 38-year-old resident, who was caught speeding at an alarming 118 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. As a result, he faces a €700 fine, 2 points on his license, and a 2-month driving ban.
In a separate incident, a 28-year-old delivery driver was caught by officers. It was discovered that this individual was driving without a valid license. The delivery vehicle driven by the 28-year-old had to be collected by a colleague.
The 28-year-old delivery driver, whose vehicle was confiscated during a check, was last arrested in 2021. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant. After serving the arrest warrant, he was released. However, he now faces criminal proceedings, but no further details about the nature of these proceedings have been disclosed.
Interestingly, no fines, license points, or driving ban were mentioned for the 28-year-old delivery driver in this case. Conversely, no information was provided about any other drivers or criminal complaints in the case of the 37-year-old driver.
It's worth noting that officers had to file two separate criminal complaints against drivers of package delivery services in Duisburg within a short period. The 37-year-old driver, who was prohibited from continuing his journey, was not provided with any details about the specific traffic violation he committed.
This serves as a reminder for all drivers to ensure they are driving legally and responsibly, especially when working for delivery services under time pressure.
