However, the traffic management within the large construction site, especially on the A42, has been extensively redesigned. Among the changes, the lanes of both directions of the A42 are now physically separated for a short stretch. After the acceleration lane of the tangent from Münster towards Duisburg, the acceleration lane of the tunnel now leads onto the direction lane towards Duisburg.
