Speed Monitoring along A42 Highway - Implemented Traffic Management System in Motorway Region

In the bustling traffic hub of the Herne motorway junction, located within the jurisdiction of Münster's motorway police, a speeding incident occurred last Sunday evening.

According to recent reports, a vehicle was measured and stopped travelling at an excessive speed of 155 km/h. As a result, the driver is now facing a penalty for this offence.

The permitted speed in this area is 60 km/h due to traffic safety reasons, as the motorway junction is subject to various speed limits due to narrowed lanes, continuous construction traffic, and frequently changing traffic management.

For those seeking more information about the Münster Police, their official website can be found at muenster.polizei.nrw. For media enquiries, the contact is the Münster Police Press Office, which can be reached via email at [email protected] or by phone at 0251/ 275- 1010.

Last weekend, from 15.08. - 18.08., the A42 was closed in the area of the motorway junction. However, the traffic management within the large construction site, especially on the A42, has been extensively redesigned. Among the changes, the lanes of both directions of the A42 are now physically separated for a short stretch. After the acceleration lane of the tangent from Münster towards Duisburg, the acceleration lane of the tunnel now leads onto the direction lane towards Duisburg.

On a positive note, the new Baukau tunnel will be opened on Monday (18.08.). In addition to the fine, the driver who was caught speeding will receive 2 points in Flensburg and a 3-month driving ban.

The search results do not provide the name of the driver who was caught speeding. Nonetheless, this incident serves as a reminder to all drivers to adhere to the speed limits and drive responsibly for the safety of everyone on the road.
