Speeding Hobby Gardener under Investigation: Criminal Complaint Filed by Federal Police NRW

In an early morning operation on Thursday, the Federal Police in Aachen stopped a 27-year-old Moroccan driver in Herzogenrath. Upon stopping the vehicle, officers noticed a strong smell of alcohol and the driver was unable to produce a driver's license.

A voluntary breath test revealed a reading of 1.8 per mille for the suspect, placing him in the range of absolute driving impairment. The criminal complaint against the suspect was expanded to include driving under the influence.

In addition to the alcohol-related offence, several plastic bags containing remnants of multiple cannabis plants were found in the suspect's vehicle. The cannabis plants had been harvested and are part of ongoing investigations.
