Get ready, movie enthusiasts! The Entertainment Memorabilia Live auction is set to take place in Los Angeles from September 4 to 6, offering a unique opportunity to own a piece of cinematic history.
The auction, hosted by Propstore, a leading company in the entertainment memorabilia market, will feature over 1,000 lots of memorabilia, including costumes and props from blockbuster films like Spider-Man 2 and 3, Star Wars, Batman, and Indiana Jones.
One of the most anticipated items at the auction is the suit worn by Tobey Maguire in Sam Raimi's Spider-Man 2 and Spider-Man 3. The suit, made of gray foam latex and red latex, with a gusseted interior lining and zippers hidden along its sides and lower back, is a rare collector's item. It is expected to sell for between $100,000 and $200,000.
The Spider-Man suit is not the only iconic item up for grabs. Harrison Ford's bullwhip, belt, and whip holster from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade are also on the auction block, with an estimated selling price of between $250,000 and $500,000.
For Star Wars fans, Darth Vader's lightsaber from The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi is a must-see. With an estimated selling price of $1 million to $3 million, this piece of galactic history is sure to ignite a bidding war.
Another exciting item is Michael Keaton's Batsuit from the 1989 Batman film. This iconic costume is estimated to sell for between $250,000 and $500,000.
Brandon Alinger, the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Propstore, emphasized the cultural significance of these items. "These items are pieces of cultural history," he said. Alinger, a recognized Lucasfilm expert, frequently discusses major Hollywood props auctions and iconic movie items, including a detailed knowledge of Star Wars lightsabers.
The auction will be held live, not online, giving bidders the chance to cast their bids wisely, as suggested by the statement, "after all, with great power comes great responsibility."
With such a diverse and valuable collection, the Entertainment Memorabilia Live auction is expected to generate $10 million in sales, making it a must-attend event for movie fans and collectors alike.
