Spring's President Jean-Marc Bellaiche to resign
Jean-Marc Bellaiche, the current president of Printemps, a renowned department store chain based in Paris, will be leaving the group in mid-September. Bellaiche has been at the helm since autumn 2020, succeeding Paolo de Cesare.
During his tenure, Bellaiche has contributed significantly to the modernization and international expansion of Printemps. He oversaw the introduction of a new visual identity and spearheaded the opening of a department store in Doha, Qatar, in 2022, marking the first abroad, followed by another in New York, US, in March 2025.
Bellaiche's term expires on September 15, and he has chosen not to renew it for personal reasons. The executive committee of Printemps will ensure the transition until a successor is appointed.
Printemps Group currently employs 3,300 people and operates 30 stores, including 21 Printemps stores, two outlet stores, and nine Citadium stores. However, a job protection plan launched in 2021 resulted in the loss of several hundred jobs and the closure of three stores.
The Disa fund, Qatari shareholders of Printemps, have been leading the supervisory board since 2013. They have thanked Bellaiche for his commitment and successful transformation of the group, which he aimed to revive, weakened by the Covid-19 pandemic and the loss of a significant portion of its international clientele.
Bellaiche, a former expert at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), has also worked tirelessly to modernize the brand. He declined to disclose the group's turnover to AFP, but it stood at 1.7 billion euros in its staggered 2017-2018 financial year.
As of now, Printemps is searching for a successor for Bellaiche. The successor's identity has not been specified in the provided search results. Bellaiche will work until September 12 and has expressed pride in the group's current strength and profitability.
