In a surprising turn of events, it has been confirmed that Bruce Springsteen did, indeed, record an electric version of his critically acclaimed album, "Nebraska." This revelation comes as part of the upcoming "Nebraska '82: Expanded Edition" box set, set to be released on October 17, 2023.

The box set, which includes electric versions of songs like "Nebraska," "Atlantic City," "Johnny 99," "Reason To Believe," "Mansion On The Hill," and the iconic "Born In The U.S.A.," promises a hard, guitar-driven electric rendition of the latter. Springsteen described the new version of "Born In The USA" as "kinda like punk rockabilly."

Contrary to his statement in June to Rolling Stone, where he asserted that there was no electric Nebraska in their vault, Springsteen has since confirmed its existence. The recording was backed by Max Weinberg and Garry Tallent, and Springsteen himself took the reins in recording the electric version of the album.

The "Electric Nebraska" version is not the only surprise in store for fans. The box set also includes seven band tracks, marking a departure from the original album's solo performances. The new versions breathe fresh life into the raw, poignant songs, offering a unique twist on Springsteen's signature sound.

In addition to the box set, fans can look forward to the biopic "Deliver Me From Nowhere," set to arrive a week later. The film, set in the same timeframe as Nebraska and Born In The USA, stars Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen and features Odessa Young as the semi-fictional love interest Faye Romano. Jeremy Strong portrays manager Jon Landau in the film.

With the release of the "Nebraska '82: Expanded Edition" and the upcoming biopic, fans are left wondering about Springsteen's creative direction and potential for more unreleased material. Springsteen himself has hinted at the possibility of another unreleased material called Tracks Three, but has expressed uncertainty about its release date, stating that it will be released "when we have time to put that out."

Just a few months ago, Springsteen also released seven 'lost' albums, adding to the excitement surrounding his musical output. The new box set and biopic are sure to add to this excitement, offering fans a fresh perspective on Springsteen's iconic work.
