"Stage Spectacle with Golden Power": Hip-hop performance grants every desire
On Friday evening, the market square in Ellwangen was alive with music as German rapper Bausa took to the stage for the annual Sommernachtsflimmern (Summer Night Flicker) event. The night was filled with a blend of hip-hop, soul, funk, Motown, techno, and more, as three opening acts warmed up the audience before Bausa's grand entrance.
Kicking off the evening was a small technical malfunction that led to "KZWO", a rapper duo from North Rhine-Westphalia, performing as the third opening act. Despite the delay, "KZWO" delivered an energetic set, including songs like "Forrest Gump" and "Wieder Hell", which created a peak atmosphere for Bausa. The duo also sang about their "Dream, Far Away", a reference to their selection as the opening act for Bausa at the Sommernachtsflimmern Song Contest in June.
Following "KZWO" was the duo "Li.Moon" and "Masurka". Their performance created a "Sommernachtsflimmern" atmosphere, a fitting name for the event. They performed songs such as "Good Mood Anyway", "Mother Nature", and "A Smile Costs Nothing". The latter, a song previously performed at the Swabian event trailer for the Song Contest in June and officially released on music streaming platforms on Friday, was a highlight of their set.
"Li.Moon" promised a diverse setlist, including chill, dirty, jazzy, and emotional songs, and they delivered on that promise. Their performance was so well-received that they returned for an encore after Bausa's main act.
"Li.Moon" and "Masurka" were not the only ones who impressed the crowd. The opening acts included "Gusy", "Sp!nox", "DJ Lowz", "Billity", and "Greed". "DJ Lowz" provided a strong beat mix of boom-bap, RnB, and old-school hip-hop for the opening, setting the stage for the rest of the night. "Sp!nox" expressed a desire to perform with a band again in the future, and "Billity" felt comfortable during the joint performance, appreciating the band's accompaniment.
Axel Rothauszky, the bassist, expressed his pride in his son "Billity's" ambition and success during the performance. DJ Benet from "Billity's" label "Traum Weiter Records" also performed.
Before Bausa took the stage, Nino de Angelo and SDP had warmed up the crowd with their own performances. Bausa expressed his solidarity with Palestine during his performance with "Spring in the Quarter".
The audience danced and celebrated to songs such as "Casanova", "What You Call Love", and "Mary". "KZWO" lost some time on stage due to the delay and performed an encore after the main act, ensuring the night ended on a high note.
The grand finale for the Sommernachtsflimmern evening was provided by "DJANLUCA", with many Ellwangers continuing to celebrate until the end of the event. The night was a testament to the power of music to bring people together and create unforgettable memories.
