Stardew Valley creator, Eric Barone, lends his voice to an enigmatic character in the credits of Hollow Knight: Silksong
In a surprising turn of events, Eric Barone, the creator of the beloved indie game Stardew Valley, has ventured into voice acting for Team Cherry's upcoming title, Hollow Knight: Silksong.
The developers of Silksong recently posted artwork of some of the game's NPCs, but the identity of the character voiced by Barone remains a mystery based on the available artwork. Team Cherry confirmed that Barone contributed to the development of Silksong, lending his voice to the game. However, the exact character he voices is being kept secret.
Barone's voice acting for Silksong involves providing short sounds and vocal fragments, rather than spoken dialogue. This collaboration comes as a humorous speculation of Barone's potential future career as an actor.
Stardew Valley and Hollow Knight, both successful indie games, were released within a year of each other. Wes Fenlon, a game journalist known for his work at PC Gamer since 2014, has been covering the gaming industry for over 10 years. Fenlon has a focus on writing and editing features, seeking out personal stories and in-depth histories from PC gaming communities.
Meanwhile, Stardew Valley is set to receive a 1.7 update. Barone's work on Silksong did not prove to be a significant distraction from his work on his new game, Haunted Chocolatier.
It's worth noting that William Pellen's family members have also contributed to the development of Silksong. The voice acting in Silksong does not involve recording actual dialogue, which further adds to the intrigue surrounding Barone's involvement in the game.
As we eagerly await more details about Silksong and Barone's character, it's clear that this collaboration has added an exciting twist to the world of indie gaming.
