Stellantis appoints Scott Krugger as the chief of North American design department
Stellantis Announces New Executive Appointments
Stellantis, the world's fourth-largest automaker, has made a series of significant appointments as part of its strategy to align with local customer needs and return to profitability.
Antonio Filosa, who took over as CEO of Stellantis in June, announced the appointments of Scott Krugger, Ralph Gilles, Jason Stoicevich, and Gilles Vidal. These appointments are crucial steps in Stellantis' plan to combine global expertise across its portfolio of 14 vehicle brands.
Scott Krugger, who most recently managed exterior design for Dodge and Dodge SRT performance vehicles in North America, has been appointed as the head of North America design. He will be responsible for leading the creative direction of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram brands in North America. Krugger's career at Stellantis has primarily focused on North American vehicle design, with an emphasis on interior integration, exterior branding, and functionality.
Ralph Gilles, named as chief design officer in June, will be building out Stellantis' new global design organization. Gilles, who was previously with the company, will lead Stellantis' global design strategy.
Gilles Vidal, a former designer for Peugeot, has been named as head of design for Stellantis' European brands. Vidal's appointment is a strategic move to bring a fresh perspective to the European brands and create inspiring and exciting products for the market.
In addition, Stellantis has appointed Jason Stoicevich to lead dealer strategy and performance in North America.
These appointments come at a critical time for Stellantis, as the company reported an operating loss of 2.3 billion euros ($2.68 billion) in the first half of 2025. The impact of tariffs this year is expected to be roughly 1.3 billion euros ($1.5 billion) for Stellantis.
Despite these challenges, Filosa remains optimistic about Stellantis' future with the new executive team in place. The appointments represent a team with a people-first mindset, a profound understanding of the company's brands, products, and customers, best-in-class expertise, and an entrepreneurial spirit.
Stellantis is working to launch new models in North America and Europe to address these challenges and return to profitability. The appointments are part of Stellantis' plans to bring inspiring and exciting products to the North American and European markets.
With the new executive team in place, Stellantis is poised to navigate the challenges of the automotive industry and position itself for success in the years to come.
