Stellar Nights Under the Blazing Sun This Season
The much-anticipated Detmold Summer Stage is set to return this year, promising three days of live music, urban vibes, and festival atmosphere from July 31st to August 2nd on Detmold Market Square.
The lineup for the event is as diverse as it is impressive, encompassing various genres such as Afro-Brazilian rhythms, singer-songwriter vibes, electro-beats, jazz, and brass sounds.
Kicking off the festivities on July 31st, the German jazz group The KNUD Trio will take the stage at 6:30 PM. Consisting of Jona Hahn (piano), Kevin Hemkemeier (bass), and Jonathan Schierhorn (drums), the trio is known for their innovative and energetic performances.
Following The KNUD Trio at 8:30 PM, German-Iranian singer-songwriter Mina Richman will grace the stage. Her music, a blend of folk, indie, pop, and hip hop, often addresses personal and societal themes.
On the same day, at 10:00 PM, the crowd will be treated to a powerful performance by Da Cruz, a Brazilian-Portuguese musician based between Lisbon and Zurich. Da Cruz's music, an explosive fusion of Bossa Nova, Afrobeat, and electronic club aesthetics, is known for its intense, genre-crossing journey through soundscapes.
The second day of the festival will continue with German musician M. Byrd, who will perform at 8:30 PM. Inspired by American road movie soundtracks and indie greats like The War on Drugs or Phoebe Bridgers, M. Byrd's music promises a unique and captivating experience.
The final act of the evening, Gallowstreet, will bring their powerful fusion of classic American brass band influences, urban grooves, hip-hop attitude, funk vibes, disco shine, and driving house rhythms to the Detmold Summer Stage at 10:00 PM. The eight-piece brass band from Amsterdam is known for their energetic performances and innovative brass arrangements.
Hans im Glück, a band from Detmold that combines hip-hop with jazz, funk, and urban lyricism, will perform on a date yet to be announced. Since 2017, the band has stood for intelligent lyrics, driving grooves, and a style that blends jam sessions and spoken word.
Da Cruz's music transcends folkloric clichés and brings a new form of urban world music to the stage, while M. Byrd's music is characterized by a blend of warm, soulful vocals with driving breakbeats, hypnotic loops, and a dense, often dark atmosphere.
The Detmold Summer Stage promises to be an unforgettable event, with its diverse lineup and vibrant atmosphere. Don't miss out on this musical journey!
