Stolen Car Tyres in Bardowick: New Vehicles Targeted - Suspicious Pond Site - Speeding at Primary School

In a series of events that unfolded on April 2nd, 2025, several incidents were reported across Lower Saxony, Germany.

Road Accidents

In Bad Bodenteich, nine vehicles were found to be exceeding the 30 km/h speed limit outside a primary school, resulting in nine speeding violations. Elsewhere, a collision occurred in Reppenstedt at around 13:30, involving a VW car and a Mazda car at the intersection of Landesstraße 216 (Lueneburger Straße) / Wiesenweg. The 73-year-old driver of the VW, who failed to yield while turning left, and the 52-year-old driver of the Mazda were both injured, with the latter suffering serious injuries. The accident caused approximately 15,000 euros worth of damage.

In a separate incident in Lueneburg, a 62-year-old driver lost control of their VW car and collided with a tree on Uelzener Straße, resulting in serious injuries and over 10,000 euros worth of damage.

Burglaries and Thefts

Two incidents of burglary were reported. In Stadorf, Uelzen, copper earthing cable worth several thousand euros was stolen from a transformer station. In Scharnebeck and Lueneburg, purses containing cash and documents were stolen from elderly women in supermarkets, causing around 200 euros in damage each.

In Bardowick, tips are being sought by the police regarding a tire theft incident. Unknown persons stole a total of eight tires from two new cars from a car dealership on Hamburger Landstraße between April 1st and 2nd, causing around 6000 euros worth of damage.

Miscellaneous Incidents

A bush along a field path on Burlaeg Street in Handorf caught fire, resulting in approximately 300 sqm of area being burned. In Lueneburg, a sofa on a covered terrace caught fire but was extinguished by the owner before the arrival of the fire department, causing no damage to the building.

In Hitzacker, an e-scooter rider was stopped by the police on Kloetzeweg for riding under the influence of alcohol and cannabis, and for not having insurance for the e-scooter.

A fire was reported at a garbage can on Lindenstraße near the local train station in Bad Bodenteich, causing damage of over 100 euros.

Finally, unknown persons stole copper cables from a transformer station on a construction site at Rosenaustraße in the Antonsviertel district of Augsburg on the evening of September 12, 2025.
