In a recent development, the Kreispolizeibehörde Borken has issued a warning to the public following a gold chain theft that occurred in Rhede on July 6, 2025.

According to the police, the theft was committed by a group of three individuals, including a man and two women. The male suspect is described as being approximately 40 years old, with short hair, a beard, and wearing a white t-shirt with colorful appliqués. The two women are also around 40 years old and were wearing black headscarves at the time of the crime.

The crime took place at Molkereihof in Rhede at 12:55 PM. The perpetrators approached the victim from a black Audi and, in a swift motion, the gold chain worth thousands of euros was snatched from the victim's neck. The vehicle then sped off in an unknown direction.

The police are advising the public to maintain a safe distance from strangers and to be suspicious if they seek physical contact or unexpectedly hand you objects. They also urge against engaging in conversations with strangers on the street.
