Stolen License Plates Under Suspected Drug Influence

In a dramatic turn of events on Thursday morning, two men, aged 23 and 29, were apprehended by federal police officers following a high-speed chase on the A11 highway.

The incident began at the Werbellin interchange in the Barnim district, where the men, travelling in a Seat car, ignored police signals and sped off towards Berlin. The direction of the chase was towards the capital city.

Initial findings suggest that the driver of the Seat car was under the influence of drugs, as indicated by their erratic and dangerous driving during the chase. This suspicion was further supported by the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Seat car continued to drive at high speed despite clear signals to stop. The vehicle was later stopped near the former Pomellen border crossing on the A11.

Upon stopping the car, it was discovered that the license plates on the Seat car were found to be stolen. The driver and passenger were both temporarily detained after the accident.

An ambulance was called by the Brandenburg state police, but thankfully, there were no personal injuries reported in the accident.

Following the arrest, the men in the Seat car will now have to answer criminal charges. The case was taken over by the state police colleagues, who are currently questioning the two men.

However, the identities of the men questioned by the state protection police near the Werbellin alternative site on Friday have not been publicly disclosed.

The federal police patrol pursued the Seat car throughout the high-speed chase, and the incident is now under further investigation by the state police.
