Streaming giants Disney+ and Hulu introduce podcasts for beloved series, giving fans additional content to indulge in
In an exciting new venture, Disney+, Hulu, and ABC are expanding their content offerings by delving into video podcasts. The Walt Disney Company, the parent company of these platforms, aims to give fans more ways to connect with their favourite shows.
The endeavour launches with the "'Only Murders in the Building' Official Podcast," coinciding with the show's season five premiere on September 9. This podcast, distributed through audio channels in partnership with ABC News Audio, will offer a deeper look at TV shows and provide a backstage pass for viewers, continuing the conversation beyond each episode. Michael Cyril Creighton will host and executive produce the podcast, and he will chat with guests including John Hoffman, Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Christoph Waltz, Jane Lynch, and Keegan Michael Key.
Joining the podcast family will be a host of hit Disney shows, such as "Dancing with the Stars," which is set to premiere on September 16. "Tell Me Lies," "Murdaugh: Death in the Family," "Paradise," and "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives" are also among the shows that will have their own podcasts.
Shannon Ryan, Direct-to-Consumer & Disney Entertainment Television Marketing President, expressed that the podcasts are designed to provide a deeper understanding of the shows and to offer fans more ways to engage with their favourite content. Podcast episodes will be available on YouTube, and new episodes will be released weekly to go with each episode drop.
Unfortunately, specific information about the hosts of the new video podcasts is not yet available. However, fans can look forward to a more immersive experience as they delve deeper into their favourite shows through these podcasts.
As the world of streaming continues to evolve, it's clear that Disney+, Hulu, and ABC are committed to providing high-quality content that engages and entertains their audience. Derek Hough, a judge on "Dancing with the Stars," expressed his gratitude to fans ahead of the show's September 16 premiere, and it's clear that this new venture is just one more way that the company is showing its appreciation for its dedicated fanbase.
In addition to the new video podcasts, Disney+ and Hulu are also working on bringing "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" to their platforms. With so much exciting content on the horizon, it's an exciting time to be a fan of Disney, Hulu, and ABC.
