Street accident in Pattaya leaves Arab vacationers hurt during illegal street race incident
In the early hours of this morning, two separate motorbike accidents occurred in Pattaya, Thailand, leaving several riders injured.
The first accident took place opposite Makro Pattaya in Nong Prue, Bang Lamung district. Witness Chakphong Wong-in, 37, saw a high-speed crash involving a big bike and another motorcycle. Two riders were seriously hurt and suffered head injuries. The wreckage of two black Honda CBR 650R big bikes and a white Yamaha Spark were found at the scene.
In a tragic turn of events, another accident involving several Arab tourists occurred on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya. The injured riders were of Saudi Arabian and Emirati nationalities and were found lying in pools of blood. The cause of the accident remains unclear, but it appears to have happened during an illegal street race.
Rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation were quickly alerted to the scene due to multiple casualties. The injured riders received first aid before being rushed to the hospital. The accident took place around 3.06am.
Pattaya police reviewed CCTV footage to confirm the high-speed crashes and recorded the evidence for further investigation. No further details about the number or extent of injuries were provided. Several riders were sent flying as a result of the crashes, and it is hoped that everyone involved in these accidents will make a full recovery.
