The Press Office of the State Capital Wiesbaden has announced ongoing construction work aimed at maintaining and improving the city's infrastructure. This extensive project includes the renewal of gas, water, and district heating lines, sanitation and roadwork, and utilities relocation across various locations in Wiesbaden.

Traffic disruptions are a result of this ongoing work, with some sections experiencing full closures. For instance, construction on Emser Straße and Riederbergstraße is expected to continue until summer 2027, while work on Schiersteiner Straße is scheduled to end by August 24, 2025. The repair of water pipe damage at Bierstadter Straße/Moltkering was completed in August 2025.

During this period, cyclists should anticipate potential difficulties due to the construction work. However, pedestrians can continue to use their usual paths as the construction work does not affect the usual pedestrian routes. Pedestrians are advised to continue using their usual routes during the construction period.

Cyclists are encouraged to plan their routes carefully due to the construction work. Detours and temporary public transport route deviations have been in place, but bus services in some areas have returned to normal following project completion. If buses are affected, information on detours can be found at eswe-verkehr.de.

For a comprehensive overview of the selected construction measures, visitors can access the map on our website at ourwebsite.de/baustellen. The contact details for the responsible department or office can be found on the Press Office's website.

It's important to note that approximately 5,000 construction sites occur in Wiesbaden each year. Without this construction work, there would eventually be major damage and stronger traffic disruptions. All construction work is an investment in the future of Wiesbaden.

Construction measures impact cyclists, but pedestrians can continue to use their usual paths. The construction work may cause inconvenience to cyclists, but the city is committed to minimising disruptions as much as possible.
