Minister Advocates for Simplified Administration and Reduced Bureaucracy in Baden-Württemberg

In a speech at the Staatsanzeiger Award, the Minister of the Interior, Danyal Bayaz, called for a more user-friendly Elster system for administration and emphasized the importance of bureaucracy reduction.

Bayaz criticized the insufficient coordination between politics and administration, and highlighted the examples of modern administration, such as the city of Sulz am Neckar's use of a high-tech measurement vehicle to create a digital twin of the road infrastructure. This innovation enables modern, data-driven street maintenance and planning, and serves as a model for the whole country.

The minister also emphasized the importance of encouraging young people to take on responsibility early on and strengthening citizens' proximity and efficiency to foster trust in the state and democracy. He stated that the new federal government faces enormous tasks, and that what politicians decide is often difficult for authorities to implement.

The award, which honors communal projects that strengthen social cohesion, was presented by the minister. The winners were praised as exemplary for modern administration, and their projects were seen as role models for the whole country.

In his speech, Bayaz also proposed the idea of tax declaration being possible between cities like Stuttgart and Ludwigsburg via an app. He cautioned against drastic reduction of the US federal tax authority IRS, and instead emphasized the importance of reducing bureaucracy without compromising the efficiency of the system.

The minister also addressed the challenge of many regulations coming from Berlin and Brussels, limiting the scope of bureaucracy simplification in Baden-Württemberg. He suggested a more user-friendly Elster system for administration as a way to address this issue and make the system more efficient.

In addition, Bayaz criticized the threat to democracy not only by extreme political fringes but also by the inertia of the center. He called for a more active and engaged political discourse to ensure the continued health of democracy in Germany.

Overall, Bayaz's speech at the Staatsanzeiger Award underscored the need for modern, efficient, and user-friendly administration in Baden-Württemberg, and the importance of reducing bureaucracy while maintaining the integrity of the system.
