Studio Session at Abbey Road with Jon Hopkins: "Their work is nothing short of astounding"

In a unique collaboration, Grammy-nominated composer Jon Hopkins has teamed up with Polestar and Abbey Road Studios to create an immersive in-car sound experience for the Polestar 3. The project, known as Abbey Road Studios Mode, aims to elevate the listening experience by replicating the sounds of Abbey Road Studios through four unique presets: Intimate, Expansive, Open, and Energised.

For the launch of Abbey Road Studios Mode in Polestar 3, Hopkins was invited to create new music for the Intimate and Expansive presets. For the Intimate preset, he crafted a subtle, contemplative piece, evoking the quiet and private feeling of being in one of Abbey Road's control rooms. In contrast, for the Expansive preset, Hopkins aimed to capture the sound of Studio Two, a creative space at the centre of Britain's music scene since 1931.

The Expansive preset, created by Hopkins, feels both vast and personal, simultaneously embracing space and detail. It's a testament to the grandeur of Studio Two, a room where countless iconic records have been made.

Polestar also collaborated with one of music's hottest up-and-coming jazz stars, corto.alto, to reimagine two of his most impactful tracks to demonstrate the capabilities of Abbey Road Studios Mode in Polestar 3. These reimagined tracks, recorded in Abbey Road Studio Two, showcase the depth of the new in-car listening experience in Polestar 3.

Corto.alto found being in Polestar 3 to be "so cool". He felt fortunate to work in one of the most famous rooms in music, Abbey Road Studio Two, and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to collaborate on this project.

In addition to the presets and collaborations, Abbey Road Studios Mode also features a producer mode, providing users with granular customisation over their audio experience. This allows users to tailor their listening experience to their personal preferences, making every drive a unique sonic journey.

Hopkins, who has worked with many influential artists in the industry, considers this project to be a unique and surreal experience. He feels fortunate to have worked on this project in one of the most famous rooms in music, Abbey Road Studio Two.
