Superstar Lady Gaga set to rule at MTV Video Music Awards

The stage is set for an exciting night as the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) approach, with a star-studded lineup of performers and some new award categories to look forward to.

This year, Lady Gaga leads the nominations with a total of 12 nods, surpassing Taylor Swift's VMA nominations. Gaga's nominated album, "Mayhem," released earlier this year, has been a hit among fans and critics alike. Her duet with Bruno Mars, "Die with a Smile," is up for four awards, including the coveted Song of the Year.

Joining Lady Gaga on the stage will be a host of other talented artists. Doja Cat, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, Conan Gray, Tate McRae, and J Balvin are all set to perform. J Balvin will take the stage not once, but twice, performing "Zun Zun" with Justin Quiles and Lenny Tavárez, and "Noventa" with DJ Snake.

Sabrina Carpenter will also return to the VMAs stage to perform "Manchild," while Alex Warren, nominated for Best New Artist, Best Pop, and Song of the Year, will make his award show debut by performing "Ordinary" for the first time.

Veteran artists will also grace the stage. Ricky Martin, who started his VMAs history with his first performance in 1999, will be honoured with the inaugural Latin Icon Award. Martin's illustrious career spans over three decades and has made him a global superstar.

Busta Rhymes, who has performed at the VMAs multiple times since his first performance in 1997, will receive the first ever MTV VMA Rock the Bells Visionary Award. Rhymes' influence on the hip-hop industry is undeniable, and this award is a testament to his enduring legacy.

As for the hosts, LL Cool J has been confirmed to lead the show, marking his third time hosting the VMAs. Other hosts for the 2025 VMAs have not been specified yet.

The 2025 VMAs will air live on Sept. 7 from the UBS Arena on New York's Long Island. In addition to the new awards for Latin and Rap artists, fans can expect an unforgettable night filled with music, surprises, and celebration of the best in music video production.
