Support for 34 local integration initiatives is provided by The Land

The Ministry of Social Affairs, Health and Integration has announced the selection of 34 promising integration projects for funding as part of the 2025 funding call "Integration on the Ground - Strengthening Municipal Structures". These projects, spread across the state, aim to promote social cohesion and strengthen the democratic foundation at the local level.

These projects encompass a wide range of initiatives. They include efforts to strengthen digital competencies and promote self-determination and participation in social life. Secure access to digital technologies and services is a basic requirement for social participation in an increasingly digital world, and these projects aim to bridge any digital divide, particularly for individuals with a migration background.

One focus of this year's funding is on projects that improve digital participation for people with a migration background. Additionally, projects that promote encounter and exchange in diverse society, such as strengthening intercultural dialogue and breaking down prejudices, are also being funded.

The ministry does not specify a maximum funding rate per project, but projects can receive up to 80,000 euros with a co-financing rate of between 75 and 90 percent. This means that both municipalities and free carriers can benefit from the funding, with the same co-financing rate range applying to all.

The ministry's funding decision was made by a diversely composed, independent expert panel. The selected projects were chosen from many applications received for the funding call.

The projects funded this year build upon last year's successes, with the establishment of structures for honorary office guides and measures for culturally sensitive design of existing offers also being included in the funding decision.
