A shocking incident occurred in Unna, Germany, on Tuesday evening, July 29, 2025, as a 76-year-old resident fell victim to a fraud attempt. The Unna Police Department is currently investigating the case, with the details available to the public.

The fraudulent caller, who concealed their identity by using a suppressed number, posed as a police officer. The senior resident was instructed to leave a bag of valuables on her property for pickup. Fortunately, the elderly woman recognised the scam and immediately contacted the Unna Police Department's emergency number.

The suspect, a 47-year-old German man from Gladbeck, was located in a vehicle near the victim's residence by police officers. The suspect was stopped by civilian police officers and arrested around 11:00 PM.
