Suspect Arsonists Escaped Following a Car Blaze in Worringen
Arson Attack on BMW in Cologne-Roggendorf: Police Seek Information
Two men are suspected of setting fire to a BMW (5 Series) in the Park & Ride car park on Berrischstraße, Cologne-Roggendorf, last Saturday night (3rd August). The incident, which caused significant damage, is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department 15 (CID 15).
According to witnesses, they saw two men running away from the direction of the BMW towards S-Bahnhof Worringen, in the direction of Sinnersdorfer Straße. One of the men was wearing a dark training jacket, dark training pants with white stripes, a cap, and a waist bag. The other man was dressed in dark clothing and wore a hoodie. Both men are estimated to be between 1.70m and 1.80m tall.
The BMW 5 Series was completely destroyed in the incident, causing several tens of thousands of euros in material damage. The police were alerted around 1 am by neighbours who noticed suspicious noises and then the burning vehicle.
The ongoing investigations aim to identify the background of the incident. However, no further details about the suspects' identities or motives have been publicly disclosed or found in the search results.
