Suspect Called to Testify - Young Man Armed with Knife Detained at Hauptbahnhof (Hbf)
In an unexpected turn of events, a threatening situation unfolded at Braunschweig Central Station early this morning. A 22-year-old Ukrainian man, wearing a white ski mask, was involved in the incident.
At around 05:40, the man verbally threatened passengers with physical violence and death, causing alarm and distress among those present. Initially, it was believed that he was handling a butterfly knife, but it was later discovered to be a hair comb.
The ski mask and the hair comb have been secured as evidence. The man was temporarily arrested by police officers from Braunschweig. He continued his journey from the platform through the main hall and the forecourt to the local transport terminal of Braunschweiger Verkehrs-GmbH.
Later, he was found in a departing tram in the city center. The Federal Police are currently investigating this case of threat at Braunschweig Central Station.
