Team unity: Timanovskaya stands with Polish national squad

In a remarkable turn of events, Belarusian runner Kristina Timanovskaya has found a new home and a supportive environment in Poland's athletics team. Her journey, marked by a significant shift in team dynamics and personal growth, has been the talk of the athletics world.

After a tumultuous experience in her home country, Timanovskaya joined the Polish team two years ago. Initially, she faced hostility from her teammates, a repercussion of her immediate success in the relay, which had caused another team member to be removed. However, last year, following the Olympics in Paris, Timanovskaya's relations with her teammates improved significantly. Today, the girls support each other, even on individual distances, and there is no internal hostility in the team.

The change in coach also contributed to this improvement. The previous coach, it seems, created tension, but the new coach fosters a friendly atmosphere, making the team more cohesive. This change has been instrumental in Timanovskaya's personal growth. Despite illness preventing her from running the 200 meters in her best season, she managed to secure a victory in the Polish championships in the 100 meters.

Looking forward, Timanovskaya hopes to build upon this success. She aims to win gold in the 200 meters in future competitions and is optimistic about the relay team's performance in the upcoming World Championships in Tokyo. In particular, she hopes the relay will show an even better result than two years ago in Budapest, where they placed fifth.

This transformation in Timanovskaya's career serves as a testament to the positive impact of a supportive environment. In contrast to her experience in Belarus, where her complaints about coaching methods were met with silence, in Poland, athletes' opinions are not only heard but respected. This shift in treatment has undoubtedly played a crucial role in Timanovskaya's personal and athletic growth.

The Polish team, led by this resilient and determined athlete, will compete at the World Championships in Tokyo in September. Their journey, filled with challenges and triumphs, is a beacon of hope for many athletes facing adversity.
