Headline: Malaysia Joins Global Condemnation of Israel's Plans at OIC Meeting in Jeddah

Malaysia will participate in an Extraordinary Meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on August 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The meeting is scheduled to discuss matters related to the Israeli government's actions in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied Palestinian Territory.

The Malaysian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Saturday, affirming Malaysia's commitment to support an independent and sovereign Palestinian State based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. During the meeting, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan will discuss joint efforts to end the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza caused by the continued blockade of humanitarian aid by the Israeli regime.

Israel's plans to forcibly seize the entire Gaza Strip and its unlawful expansionist vision of a "Greater Israel" are also on the agenda. The OIC has condemned these plans, stating that they are illegal under international law and threaten the two-state solution, potentially imposing de facto annexation.

The meeting will also address Israel's plans to construct thousands of illegal settlements in the E1 area, situated between Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. The United Kingdom (UK), Australia, and Japan are among 21 countries that have condemned these plans, arguing that they make a future two-state solution for Palestinians impossible.

Besides Malaysia, other countries attending the meeting include Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Brunei, Burkina Faso, Chad, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, and Qatar.

The OIC's condemnation of Israel's plans is based on the fact that they violate international law and undermine peace efforts in the region. The meeting in Jeddah serves as a platform for the international community to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and reaffirm their commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
