Teenage offspring of a notorious murderer, with ties to Muslim killings, faces accusations of sexual assault against a 15-year-old girl.

In a shocking turn of events, a 15-year-old girl identified as A.A. has accused a local man, Adil Syed, of a horrific crime. On May 25, 2023, A.A. claims she was raped at an Albuquerque park.

According to A.A., she met Adil Syed on Snapchat and he picked her up, along with her two cousins, on the same day. The alleged attack occurred after the other girls got out of the vehicle at the park. A.A. says the attacker drove her to her aunt's apartment, where her cousin briefly fought with him.

The aftermath of this traumatic event has left A.A. severely affected. She has been experiencing panic attacks, nightmares, and has "contracted a lifelong illness" as a result. Tragically, A.A. has also become suicidal since the rape.

Detectives traced the suspect's Snapchat to Adil Syed and confirmed he matched the description of A.A.'s attacker. Albuquerque police arrested Syed at his family's home in Southwest Albuquerque.

Adil Syed, 26, is currently facing criminal charges for two counts of criminal sexual penetration. However, it is still unclear if he has an attorney to represent him. Initially, Syed told police he would not provide DNA until he spoke with an attorney, but he never called them back.

The case has been complicated by conflicting statements from A.A.'s cousins. One cousin has claimed that the girl "lied about the rape" and it was consensual, but the girl's other cousin has supported A.A.'s account. The cousin who fought the rapist explained that he was "overprotective" of A.A.

The attacker is said to have driven the girls to the park, locked the doors after her cousins got out, and raped A.A. while she cried and tried to push him away.
