Good news for motorsport fans in New Zealand! The Supercars Championship will continue to be broadcast on Sky New Zealand until the end of 2028, with the addition of a second race in the country starting from 2026.

James Warburton, CEO of Supercars, expressed his excitement about extending the partnership with Sky, which has been a broadcast partner for over a decade. Warburton stated, "We are thrilled to be extending our partnership with Sky in New Zealand. The Supercars Championship has a rich history of New Zealand champions, and we're looking forward to continuing to bring the excitement of Supercars to Kiwi fans for the next four seasons."

Adam Crothers, Head of Content Partnerships at Sky, added, "The addition of a second New Zealand race is a game-changer for local fans. We're proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Supercars, and we're excited to bring even more Supercars action to Kiwi households."

The Supercars Championship will be broadcast on Sky New Zealand from 2026 to 2029. The circuit added alongside Taupo for the 2026 season is not yet explicitly stated. However, it's clear that New Zealand will play a significant role in the Supercars Championship for the foreseeable future.

In addition to the Supercars Championship, Sky covers Formula 1, IndyCar, and World Superbike in New Zealand. The network's motorsport line-up is robust, and it's clear that motorsport remains a core part of Sky's offering in New Zealand.

Currently, five Kiwi drivers are competing in the Supercars Championship, and a new generation of Kiwi stars is making their mark in the series. The 2025 Supercars competition is currently underway, with the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 taking place this weekend (8-10 August).

New Zealand has an incredibly passionate motorsport audience, and the new deal reinforces Sky's commitment to providing comprehensive coverage of the sport in the country. With two events in New Zealand locked in for the Supercars Championship until the end of 2028, Kiwi fans can look forward to many more years of exciting Supercars action.
