Telstra's Scam Protect Service Stops Annoying Telephone Solicitors
Telstra Strengthens Fight Against Scams with New Initiatives
In a bid to bolster its customers' protection against fraudulent activities, Telstra has rolled out several new initiatives over the past year. One of the most noteworthy is the Telstra Scam Protect feature, which has been applied to over 10 million calls since its implementation at the end of December 2024.
Telstra Scam Protect is a proactive measure designed to safeguard customers from scam calls. The service, which is available at no extra cost, automatically alerts customers when a potentially fraudulent call is detected. This feature has been implemented across Telstra's retail and wholesale services, including its mobile brands Boost Mobile and Belong.
In addition to Telstra Scam Protect, the company has also introduced Device Security Essentials, a free feature embedded into the MyTelstra App. Powered by McAfee, this initiative aims to shield devices from online threats.
The company's efforts don't stop there. In partnership with Quantium Telstra and Commonwealth Bank (CBA), Scam Indicator and Fraud Indicator have been developed to further bolster customers' security. These initiatives are designed to help detect and prevent fraudulent calls and identity theft.
While these initiatives are a significant step forward in the fight against scams, Telstra emphasises that combatting scammers is a team effort. Everyone has a role to play in staying alert and vigilant.
Telstra's recent initiatives are part of a broader commitment to protect customers from scams. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, so too will Telstra's efforts to ensure its customers are safe and secure.
