Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles Dominate Cumberland in Lopsided Victory
The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles showcased their dominance in NCAA football on Saturday, cruising to a 65-0 win over Cumberland. In the opening quarter alone, the Golden Eagles outgained Cumberland 125-17, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
Quarterback Kekoa Visperas had a stellar performance, completing 17 of 26 passes for 250 yards and throwing three touchdowns. His main targets included Torin Baker, Aidan Littles, and Tre' Halloway, each of whom caught a touchdown pass in the first half.
Running back Q'Darryius Jennings added two touchdown runs to the tally, while Maurice Sims scored on a 78-yard run in the final minute of the first quarter, making the score 21-0. The score remained lopsided throughout the game, with Tennessee Tech outgaining Cumberland 570-94 in total yardage.
Cumberland struggled on the ground, being held to minus-7 yards in the first quarter. The Phantoms were unable to find their footing, as the Golden Eagles' defense remained relentless.
Tre' Halloway also scored a touchdown via a 53-yard punt return, while Quintell Quinn and Jace Wilson each scored one touchdown for Tennessee Tech.
This was Tennessee Tech's first shutout since a 35-0 win over Tennessee State in 2023, marking a significant milestone in the team's season.
