Tensions Rising Between France's National Team (Les Bleus) and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) Due to Injury of Ousmane Dembélé in Ukraine-France Game

PSG's Ousmane Dembélé Sidelined for Six Weeks Due to Hamstring Injury

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has suffered a significant blow with the news that Ousmane Dembélé will be out for at least six weeks due to a severe right hamstring injury. The injury occurred during France's 2-0 win over Ukraine on September 17, 2025.

The unfortunate incident took place during a game in Toulouse the previous weekend, where Dembélé felt discomfort in his left thigh's hamstrings. The injury occurred during an acceleration, and Dembélé immediately knew his night and his gathering were over. An MRI is planned to determine the severity of the injury.

Prior to this incident, Dembélé had undergone an operation on September 5, 2025, for a clavicle fracture. This setback is more than grade 1, making it a serious concern for the Parisian club.

Didier Deschamps, the French national team coach, had decided to play Dembélé in the game, despite medical evaluations suggesting otherwise. Deschamps' decision may impact his relationship with Luis Enrique and the PSG as a whole, as the club is upset with the French team's handling of Dembélé's case, believing they were warned not to play him due to his fatigue.

In the game against Atalanta Bergamo, Dembélé came off injured during the second half, shortly after coming in at half-time for Desire Doué. Despite having alternatives on his bench, including Maghnes Akliouche, Marcus Thuram, and Adrien Rabiot, Deschamps' decision to play Dembélé may have had consequences for the rest of the Parisian season.

The controversy between PSG and the French team may intensify due to Dembélé's injury. The PSG season's outcome may depend on whether Dembélé is currently experiencing athletic burnout, as his absence could leave a significant gap in the team's offensive line.

With the Champions League's start just twelve days away and the Classic against OM sixteen days away, it's unlikely Dembélé will be available for these appointments. The club and its fans will be hoping for a swift recovery for their star player.
