Elon Musk's Ambitious Tesla Share Package
Elon Musk, the world's wealthiest individual, is set to receive an unprecedented package of shares from Tesla, according to reports from ntv.de and mau/dpa. The target for this full share package is an impressive $8.5 trillion market capitalization for Tesla, a figure that would make it one of the most valuable companies in the world.
The package, which includes up to 423 million shares, is tied to a series of challenging milestones. To qualify for these shares, Tesla must deliver one million AI robots and one million robotaxis without human drivers. Additionally, the company must achieve 20 million vehicle deliveries at a $2 trillion market cap and accumulate adjusted earnings of up to $400 billion.
These milestones are divided into twelve tranches and require shareholder approval. If achieved, Musk could receive these shares in stages over the next decade. It's important to note that if the 2018 compensation package of around 300 million shares is reinstated, the new allocation would become void.
As of now, Tesla's current market value is approximately $1.1 trillion, a significant leap from its value in 2018 when the larger compensation package was scrapped due to a shareholder lawsuit, with Tesla's appeal still pending. Nvidia currently holds the title of the most valuable company on the stock market, with a market value of around $4 trillion.
Musk's estimated net worth, primarily from Tesla shares and SpaceX stakes, is around $380 billion. If Tesla meets all targets and Musk remains with the company for a decade, he will also secure his desired 25 percent stake in the company.
The shareholders' meeting for voting on this new compensation package for Musk and Tesla's investment in Musk's AI company, xAI, is scheduled for November. The success of this package will depend on Tesla's ability to meet these ambitious conditions and the support of its shareholders.
