The Aston Martin Vantage S is set to make its debut as the official safety car for Formula 1 this weekend at the Zandvoort Circuit in the Netherlands. This high-performance vehicle has been specifically upgraded for its prestigious role.

Alex Long, Global Marketing Director at Aston Martin, expressed his excitement about the Vantage S taking on this role, stating that it represents the peak of performance for the model. The car is not only powerful but also aesthetically pleasing, finished in Podium Green, the same colour as Aston Martin's Formula 1 racing cars and the DBX707 medical car.

The Vantage S has been equipped with an FIA-specification light bar that is aerodynamically optimised. It also boasts a huge downforce-generating rear spoiler, ensuring it can keep up with the speedy Formula 1 field.

Bernd Maylaender, who will be responsible for driving the safety car, expressed his delight at being one of the first to take the wheel of the Aston Martin Vantage S. He believes the car's capabilities will allow him to respond quickly and safely during on-track deployment. The centrally mounted bonnet blades on the Vantage S help extract hot air from the twin-turbocharged V8 engine, further enhancing its performance.

The Aston Martin Vantage S accelerates from 0-62mph in just 3.4 seconds, making it the most performance-focused Vantage to date. It also boasts a top speed of 202mph, making it the most powerful safety car Aston Martin has ever produced.

While the official safety car driver for the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix has not been mentioned, it is clear that the Aston Martin Vantage S is more than capable of handling the role.
