"The city of Los Angeles prepares for the first North American showing of the 'This is MANGA - The Art of NAOKI URASAWA' exhibition, set to open on the 23rd of January."
Get ready, manga fans! The internationally acclaimed Japanese manga artist, Naoki Urasawa, is coming to our website Los Angeles for an exclusive interview and retrospective exhibition.
The event, titled "This is MANGA - The Art of NAOKI URASAWA," is a joint presentation by our website Los Angeles and The Yomiuri Shimbun. The interview will take place on January 23, 2019, at our website Salon, Level 5, and is complimentary for all attendees.
The retrospective exhibition will be held from January 23 to March 28, 2019, on the same premises. The exhibition will feature over 400 original drawings and storyboards from seven of Urasawa's major works, providing a unique insight into his creative process.
To add to the excitement, a book signing event with Naoki Urasawa will take place on January 23, 2019, at our website Gallery, Level 2. To participate, you will need to purchase a book from our website "monozukuri shop."
Urasawa, who has sold over 127 million copies of his works in Japan alone, is known for continually pushing the limits of the manga medium since his professional debut in 1983. His works are published in more than 20 countries, making him a global sensation.
The exhibition will also include four consecutive YAWARA! stories every other week, replicating the weekly serial style of many Japanese comic anthologies. To enhance the Japanese cultural experience, a special reading area will be set up, stocked with full, published English translations of his works.
Our website Los Angeles, an innovative project with three hubs in London, Los Angeles, and São Paulo, will offer interactive drawing workshops related to the "This is MANGA - The Art of NAOKI URASAWA" exhibition. Details about these workshops will be released soon on www.our website.
In a recent collaboration with the Louvre Museum, Urasawa worked on a piece titled MUJIRUSHI (The Sign of Dreams). This award-winning artist has truly made his mark in the world of manga and art.
Our website Los Angeles, located at Hollywood & Highland, offers more than just a gallery space. It features a Japanese restaurant, a relaxing library, an event venue, and spectacular views of Hollywood and Downtown Los Angeles.
