The commencement of Fruit Juice Season in 2025 has officially begun.

In the heart of Germany, Baden-Württemberg stands as a shining example of a functional regional value chain, with the fruit juice industry playing a significant role. This industry, home to numerous companies, processes fruits into juices and other products, contributing to the production of a diverse range of sustainable and regional products.

Orchards, a key component of this industry, provide a rich habitat for a wide variety of animal and plant species. Minister Peter Hauk, the head of the Consumer Protection Authority, Agriculture, and Rural Areas in Baden-Württemberg, has emphasised this point, expressing gratitude to the managers and fruit juice companies for their contribution to preserving the cultural landscape.

Thousands of small-scale owners manage and preserve these orchards, ensuring their continued importance to the region. Applesauce, a traditional drink of Baden-Württemberg, symbolises the region's close connection to these orchards.

Minister Hauk has also highlighted the industry's ability to meet market trends such as regionality and sustainability. The processed juice from these companies often ends up in consumers' glasses, making it a vital part of everyday life in the region.

The Ministry of Food, Rural Areas, and Consumer Protection, responsible for the protection of consumers, rural areas, and the food industry, can be contacted via email in the Press Office or through a Citizen's Representative. However, they did not provide any new information about the processing of fruits by juice companies or the role of small-scale owners in managing and preserving the orchards.
