Volkswagen Unveils the New VW Tiguan and VW Tayron Models

Volkswagen AG has announced the release of two new models, the VW Tiguan (2024) and its successor, the VW Tayron, set to debut in 2025.

The VW Tiguan (2024) undergoes several significant changes, starting with its boot volume, which has increased by 37 liters to a spacious 652 liters. The automaker has also introduced a digitalized cockpit, featuring sharp, large displays, touch functionality, and a head-up display. The scope of features depends on the equipment line, with the basic version offering a basic set of safety assistants and configurable via the central 12.9-inch display.

One of the most notable changes is the gear selector, now a small stub on the right side of the steering wheel. This redesign has created space in the center console for wireless and cooled charging trays for smartphones and USB-C ports. The model also boasts new LED headlights and adaptive IQ.Light-HD matrix headlights with 38,400 individually controllable LEDs.

The VW Tiguan (2024) has experienced a minor length increase of 30 mm, making it a total of 4539 mm. Despite this, the dimensions have not changed dramatically. The coefficient of drag has been reduced from 0.33 to 0.28, improving aerodynamic competition and energy efficiency.

The VW Tiguan (2024) is equipped with the MIB4 electronics architecture, which bundles a wide range of communication technologies. Notably, the model is only available with an automated dual-clutch transmission (DSG).

Meanwhile, the VW Tayron, successor to the VW Tiguan Allspace, offers a larger wheelbase and more exterior length, resulting in up to seven seats and a larger boot. The VW Tayron was introduced on October 9, 2024, with deliveries starting in 2025.
