On Sunday, August 31st, the Traffic Safety Day will be held in Kirchlengern, organised by the Kreis Herford and various partners. The event, which will take place from 11 am to 5 pm, aims to educate attendees about safety in road traffic for car drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.

The idea for this action day originated from the working group "Traffic Safety". The event will be hosted on the grounds of the Road Traffic Office and will feature a variety of activities and demonstrations designed to promote traffic safety.

District Administrator Jürgen Müller is looking forward to the event and plans to attend. He will be joined by representatives from the police, the traffic safety association, the community, the Kirchlengern fire department, and the Kreis Sports Association.

One of the highlights of the day will be a demonstration by the Kirchlengern fire department, showcasing a car rescue operation at 2:15 pm. Visitors who arrive by bike can have it coded by ADFC to reduce the risk of theft.

Children will not be left out, with the Kreis Sports Association offering a balance bike course supported by the mascot "Freddie Flitzer". There will also be a bouncy castle for them to play on.

Staff from the Road Traffic Office will help create rescue cards tailored to specific cars on site, and the German Traffic Club will present a cargo bike called the "milla-bike".

Entertainment for the day will be provided by Sven Kampeter with "Puppet Paul" and singer "Faryna", who will teach attendees the rules of the road in a fun and engaging way. Moderator Henning Tonn, a traffic safety advisor with the police in Lippe, will guide the program.

Food and drinks will be available throughout the day, including cold drinks, bratwurst and fries, coffee, and cake. A surprise is planned for bike-riding visitors, but the details are yet to be revealed.

In addition, the traffic safety association will provide a rollover and driving simulator, and classic car enthusiasts will find examples on display at the event. Visitors are encouraged to come and learn about traffic safety in a fun and interactive way.
