The dining establishment known as Robinson Crusoe has shut down operations. What follows?

The Robinson Crusoe restaurant in Yakutsk, known for its focus on oysters and seafood, has temporarily closed for renovation. Originally opened in the fall of 2021, the establishment is set to reopen as a whole complex in the summer of 2024.

Before the renovation, Robinson Crusoe operated as a restaurant, offering a variety of seafood dishes. However, the expansion plans include the addition of a banquet hall, a children's zone, and a VIP zone.

Despite the temporary closure, the restaurant's direction remains the same, with a focus on oysters and seafood. Yakutian fish will be available in a wide assortment at the renovated Robinson Crusoe.

The restaurant is the only place in Yakutsk where one can order dishes made from live oysters. This unique offering, combined with the upcoming expansion, has garnered attention in the catering industry. Some believe that the restaurant may have miscalculated its format by focusing too heavily on seafood.

Despite these doubts, Robinson Crusoe scored the best results among Yakutian restaurants in the WHERETOEAT Russia 2024 rating (381-410 places). The news of the closure coincided with the recently published rating of the All-Russian Restaurant Award.

The 2GIS page for Robinson Crusoe states that the restaurant will reopen after some time. The administration of Robinson Crusoe has confirmed that the closure is temporary and that the restaurant is undergoing renovation to transform into a whole complex.

Prior to the renovation, Robinson Crusoe was operating in test mode as just a restaurant. However, with the upcoming expansion, it is set to become a significant player in the Yakutsk dining scene.

The reopening of Robinson Crusoe in the fall of this year is eagerly anticipated by seafood lovers in Yakutsk and beyond.
