The Witcher 4: A New Journey Awaits in Kovir

The highly-anticipated fourth instalment of the acclaimed Witcher series, The Witcher 4, is currently in development by CD Projekt Red. Using the cutting-edge Unreal Engine 5, the game is set to release on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC, promising an immersive experience for players.

The setting of The Witcher 4 is the previously unexplored region of Kovir, an isolated village in the north. The game's main character is Ciri, who has gone through the Trial of the Grasses and is now a powerful warrior. Geralt, the iconic monster hunter, will also be in the game, but his role is not yet fully revealed.

The tech demo shown at Epic Games' State of Unreal event gave a glimpse into the game's world. Ciri was seen making her way through rugged mountains and dense forests to a lively port town called Valdrest. The demo showcased Valdrest to be incredibly dense and bustling with life, offering a hint at the game's rich and vibrant environment. However, it did not show actual gameplay from the game itself.

The Witcher 4 is shaping up to be an AAA RPG trilogy, with character actions having a direct impact on the story. Players' choices can potentially set off chain reactions, adding a layer of immersion and replayability to the game.

In addition to the engaging storyline and action-packed gameplay, The Witcher 4 will also feature fan-favourite elements such as Gwent. The game's developer, CD Projekt Red, has confirmed that Gwent will return in some form.

Moreover, romance will be a part of the game, adding a new dimension to the player's experience. The extent of Geralt's role in the game is not yet known, but it is clear that he will still feature, albeit not in the main role.

The release date for The Witcher 4 is not yet confirmed, with reports suggesting it will not be until at least 2025. Despite the wait, fans of the series are eagerly anticipating the next instalment in Geralt's journey as a monster hunter, following his own moral code, and exploring the world of The Witcher like never before.
