The potential future of Pickleball stretches beyond courts, as current indicators suggest a broadening scope for the sport.

The Pickle Pad, a popular pickleball venue known for its professional-grade Cushion X courts, is set to expand its footprint across the United States. This expansion will see new locations opening in Tampa, Myrtle Beach, St. George, Newport News, and Oak Ridge, among others.

The Pickle Pad's growth is part of a wider trend in the pickleball industry, driven by the increasing popularity of the sport. Each new location will offer more than just pickleball courts, blending the game with dining and social experiences.

In Hoover, Alabama, the site will debut alongside Crave Social Eatery and Altitude Trampoline Park. Similarly, in Oak Ridge, New Jersey, The Pickle Pad will open alongside Birdie ParTee and Crave Social Eatery. In Port Arthur, Texas, it will anchor a multi-experience development with Birdie ParTee, Crave Social Eatery, and Altitude Trampoline Park.

The new locations will also capitalise on holiday demand for group and family activities. Guests can look forward to trying the company's PIQLZ simulator, taking lessons with certified pickleball pros, or signing up for league play. For those seeking a more immersive experience, themed clinics and retreats such as "Pickle Palooza" and pickleball-and-yoga weekends are on the agenda.

Indoor Active Brands, created by NRD Capital, is supporting the expansion of pickleball-entertainment venues. The company has opened installations under the brand The Pickle Pad, featuring indoor pickleball courts with accompanying restaurants called Crave Social Eatery. Laykold, known for manufacturing high-quality pickleball court surfaces, partners with venues including the National Pickleball League to deliver world-class courts in various locations globally.

The franchise is also preparing to open in Tampa, building on its first location in Tallahassee. Three new locations are planned to open in the fourth quarter, with the exact dates yet to be announced.

Meanwhile, Chicken N Pickle, another pickleball venue, is expanding nationwide and focusing on acquiring complementary entertainment and hospitality concepts. The company is also exploring city partnerships to build public pickleball court facilities.

In a significant development, Ace Pickleball Club has partnered with DoorDash in a multi-year deal, making DoorDash the official on-demand platform for its clubs. DoorDash will also sponsor the Ace Pickleball Club Championship Series, which offers a $250,000 prize pool. Each Ace Pickleball Club location will feature a designated DoorDash Delivery Zone.

Seven projects are now in development for The Pickle Pad, signalling a bright future for the pickleball industry and the growth of "eatertainment" destinations. As pickleball continues to gain popularity, it's clear that The Pickle Pad is at the forefront of this exciting movement.
