New Audi A5: Larger, Greener, and Now Available

Audi has unveiled the new Audi A5, a vehicle that promises to be larger, more efficient, and packed with the latest technology. The new A5, which replaces the A4, sits on a new platform designed for internal combustion engine (ICE) cars, known as the Premium Platform Combustion (PPC).

The new Audi A5 is 67mm longer, 13mm wider, and has a 68mm longer wheelbase than its predecessor, providing more interior space for passengers and luggage. The new A5 will be available in both saloon and Avant body styles, with both the A5 and S5 models available in both versions.

Audi's CEO, Gernot Döllner, has stated that the new Audi A5 will have partially electric driving capabilities due to advanced MHEV plus technology. At launch, the new Audi A5 will offer a four-pot petrol engine with 148bhp or 201bhp, a 2.0-litre four-pot diesel with MHEV Plus hybrid system, and a new S5 with a 3.0-litre V6 engine.

In addition to the traditional powertrains, Audi has introduced a new plug-in powertrain option for the A5 range - the Audi A5 e-Hybrid. This new model offers a promise of 67 miles of electric range. The Audi A5 e-Hybrid was revealed as a new addition to the Audi A5 range, which was previously known as the A4.

The new Audi A5 e-Hybrid features a curved display with an 11.9'' driver display, 14.5'' infotainment system, and an optional 10.9'' passenger display. These advanced displays provide drivers with a wealth of information and entertainment options.

Audi has also announced a Black Edition for the A4 and A5, featuring gloss black cosmetics, upgraded wheels, and a new trim level for the A4 - the Audi A4 Technik. The Audi A4 Black Edition is also available for purchase.

Despite earlier reports, Audi has not abandoned its plan to brand EVs with even-numbered badges and ICE cars with odd. UK prices for the new Audi A5 have not been announced yet, but they will be announced before the new A5 goes on sale on 13 August. The new Audi A5 and A4 Black Edition are now available for sale in the UK, with prices ranging from £41,950 to £70,600.

However, there will be no coupe or cabriolet version of the new Audi A5. A PHEV version of the new Audi A5 will be available next year. The new Audi A5 is set to be a significant step forward for Audi, offering a larger, more efficient, and technologically advanced vehicle for consumers.
