Theater group, Sheridan Civic Theater Guild, to stage production of "Twelve Angry Men"
The Sheridan Civic Theater Guild is set to stage Twelve Angry Men next month at the Carriage House Theater. This thought-provoking play examines due process, the concept of a fair trial, and the responsibility of jurors, and will be performed on September 12-14, 19-21, and 26-28.
Directed by Jenni Reed, a board member of the Sheridan Civic Theatre Guild, Twelve Angry Men is a gripping drama about 12 jurors deliberating a murder trial. Reed interprets the play as a timely snapshot of justice and human nature, directing the deliberations of these jurors in a tense and intense jury room.
The play begins with the jurors initially agreeing on a verdict, but as the discussion progresses, preconceived notions and biases quickly surface, leading to heated exchanges. Reed's concept also suggests that the play shows how men currently view the world.
Performance times for Twelve Angry Men are at 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. for each date. Ticket prices for adults are $20, while seniors, military, and students pay $15. Tickets can be found here.
Don't miss this captivating production of Twelve Angry Men, presented by special arrangement with The Dramatic Publishing Company of Woodstock, Illinois. It promises to be a thought-provoking and engaging evening of theatre that will leave you pondering the complexities of due process and the human condition.
