In a call for serious climate protection plans, the Fridays for Future (FFF) movement organized a nationwide climate strike on Friday, 14.2., attracting approximately 1,000 participants in Düsseldorf alone. The rally, held on Schadowplatz, saw speakers expressing frustration about climate change not being a priority in the federal election.

The following day, on Saturday, 15.2., the climate strike continued with even more participation. Around 1,000 people took part in the demonstration in Düsseldorf, with the number growing to nearly 130,000 across over 150 locations. The Tilly Mottowagen, a well-known vehicle in the movement, participated in both the Friday and Saturday demonstrations.

The Saturday demonstration also saw musical performances and speeches before setting off behind the Tilly-Mottowagen. Singer Milen performed at the Saturday demonstration, adding a musical touch to the powerful message of the climate strikers.

The movement demanded a phase-out of coal, oil, and gas, affordable climate-friendly alternatives for all, and fair financing by corporations and the super-rich. They also called for the establishment of a disaster fund to provide swift aid for natural disasters like floods, storms, or droughts.

Beyond the announced AfD event, another event titled "Remigration creates living space" was registered on the Oberbilker market on Saturday. The Democratic Socialist Party of Germany (DSSQ) also called for participation in a demo against the right on Saturday. However, the search results do not provide information about which political party is participating in the demonstration against the right-wing at Oberbilker Markt on Saturday.

In a unique action, Greenpeace launched an action where top candidates receive 2 cent coins to emphasize that the super-rich must contribute appropriately with their climate-damaging lifestyle. The movement continues to press for action and awareness, urging politicians and the public to take climate change seriously.
