The Metalacker Festival, a beloved metal music event, is set to take place this weekend in Tennenbronn, Schramberg district, Rottweil district. This year's event promises to be an unforgettable experience, with a lineup of well-known heavy metal bands from around the world and a warm welcome from local residents.

The Metalacker Festival has come a long way since its humble beginnings in 2012, when it attracted around 600 visitors. Today, the festival is staged by a consortium of seven associations from Tennenbronn, including the VW Club, Narrenzunft Erzknappen, Wurzel and Ichbehexen, the local fire department, and others.

The festival's origins can be traced back to a small gathering that initially started with a so-called Pilsbar. Another friend had the idea to invite a band to the Metalacker Festival, and the rest, as they say, is history.

This year, metal fans from all over Germany, as well as bands such as Aephanemer, Avralize, Darker Half, Dynazty, Emil Bulls, Ensiferum, Greyback, Mission In Black, Necrotted, and The Halo Effect, among others, will be taking over the field where cows usually graze. The festival will take place on August 29 and 30, 2025.

In preparation for the event, setup began last week, with stages being built on the site starting Monday. Long traffic jams formed in the Black Forest as most festival-goers arrived on Thursday.

The Metalacker Festival is known for its unique community, with metal fans eager to attend. Locals are also welcoming festival-goers warmly, selling sausages and beer on a donation basis along the roadside.

The Metalacker Festival has earned a good reputation in the metal music scene, with many bands eager to perform there. In previous years, scene giants such as Sepultura, Eluveitie, Gloryhammer, Battle Beast, and Equilibrium have graced the Metalacker Festival stage.

With around 350 volunteers on duty during the festival weekend, many of whom take time off work to help, the Metalacker Festival is a true labour of love for the Tennenbronn community. When there's no festival, the Metalacker is a field used for hay production, normally farmed by Lehmann's brother.

As the Metalacker Festival continues to grow, it remains a testament to the power of music and community. Whether you're a metal fan or simply looking for a unique and exciting event to attend, the Metalacker Festival is not to be missed.
