In the picturesque town of Landshut, the role of Landscape Conservation Associations (LCAs) cannot be overstated. These crucial institutions are not only vital for the preservation of cultural landscapes but also play a significant part in promoting sustainable agriculture and preserving biodiversity.

Chairman of the Landshut Landscape Conservation Association, Landrat Peter Dreier, is at the forefront of advocating for the secure funding of LCAs. He has written to local Members of the Bundestag, urging them to advocate for sustainable funding for LCAs.

The success of LCAs in Landshut is evident in the "Landshut blooms" project, where thousands of fruit trees have been planted, and hundreds of hectares of flower meadows have been created. This project is a testament to the effective work of LCAs in the region.

However, LCAs are currently facing funding issues at a federal level due to tight budget constraints. Landrat Peter Dreier warns that if the federal government does not secure funding sustainably, municipalities may have to step in, which is not affordable in the long run.

LCAs serve as a link between various interest groups, including farmers, environmental organizations, municipalities, and citizens. They are crucial representatives for cooperative nature conservation. One of their primary tasks is the preservation of biodiversity, another is the promotion of sustainable agriculture.

The Bavarian Minister of the Environment has recently appealed to the federal government to secure funding sustainably for Landscape Conservation Associations. Landrat Peter Dreier supports these efforts and is advocating for federal support for LCAs. He believes that LCAs are vital institutions for nature conservation in Germany.

Landrat Peter Dreier is urging Members of the Bundestag to advocate for sustainable funding for LCAs. He is hopeful that with their support, LCAs will continue to thrive and contribute to the care and development of natural habitats in Landshut and beyond.
