In the Unna district, a tragic three-vehicle accident occurred in Schwerte on the morning of the previous day. The incident claimed the lives of three individuals, including two nine-year-old children, and left another nine-year-old child hospitalized.

The accident is suspected to have been caused by a passing maneuver. Emergency services and numerous personnel were swiftly deployed to the scene, with two rescue helicopters also utilized in the operations.

The victims of the accident were a 43-year-old man and the two nine-year-old children. Their electric car collided with a tree and caught fire, resulting in their tragic deaths. The surviving nine-year-old child was rushed to hospital.

Pastoral care workers were present at the scene to offer support to the relatives of the victims and emergency services. Recovery operations continued into the evening, with further details about the accident's course initially unavailable.
